normal people caught in situations that are not so normal. It is a novel of people who go outside the social norm, but yet remain likable, asking for empathy from
the reader. This novel is one that makes the reader truly examine how they perceive others, as well as themselves, through social guidelines and an inner, more in-depth, understanding of
life itself. It is not a novel that is necessarily one filled with events and a plot line, but rather a story of one couple and the religious leader of
the village who must come to terms with the couple. The following paper offers a book summary/analysis of Haiens novel. The All of It The story essentially begins with
the every day dealings of Father Declan de Loughry. While he is a religious leader he is also a fisherman of sorts in the small Irish village. He is not
a shallow man, but rather a man who purposefully looks at life when it provides him with something complex, albeit unwillingly at times. This is the case with his present
state as he examines events that have transpired over the past few days. We see Father Declan de Loughry fishing for salmon and examining the knowledge he has gained in
the past few days. His knowledge concerns a couple, a couple he thought was just a loving couple who were living in sin. The couple consisted of Kevin and Enda
who had escaped years before from their family home. They had found comfort and safety in this Irish village where they lived as man and wife when they were actually
