For the literal among us, it is a regional phrase for a cloth bag-usually burlap (and with little imagination you can probably guess that those baby pigs just jumped in
the bag themselves, right?) For most of us a "poke" is a sharp jab, a physical blow, usually intended to cause pain, or at if not, to at
least get your attention. The abortion issue seems to have generated its own poke - "bag" form and "jab" form. The issues may be clear enough, from
a womans right to privacy and choice, to the consideration of the right of an unborn child. Yet it seems that somewhere in the mix, the emotions, or the
politics, spins everything on its own axis, with little breathing room left for anything else. In trying to understand - or even seek clarity, one might wonder what keeps this
drama of abortion" on so many personal internal screens? Could it our human nature to need drama to define part of ourselves? Certainly drama has existed since
ancient Greece, probably about 500 years BC. That might be an indication of what in the theater is labeled as a "long run." Although we dont
like to talk about it, infanticide also has a long social history. How did Romulus and Remus meet the wolf? Why was there a prevalence of male
children in the population of many historical countries? There is even some thought that an attempted gender displacement of the "baby killer" stigma so traumatically applied to the Vietnam-era
