cultural and technological contributions to the world from the planets finest thinkers, artisans, and innovators. Many of the worlds most famous innovations were debuted at the Worlds Fair for the
first time, such as Edison and Teslas competing designs for electric light at the 1893 Worlds Fair in Chicago (the first time that many had even seen such a phenomenon).
The same is true for somewhat less monumental discoveries that have nonetheless become an integral part of national culture, such as the corn dog, or iced tea. Because the Worlds
Fairs are always such stellar attractions, and typically generate a great deal of revenue, there is naturally a great deal of competition and debate regarding which city should win the
rights to host the event. This paper will present an argument for Washington DC as the ideal location for the 2015 Worlds Fair. This paragraph helps the student provide
an overview of the reasoning behind choosing Washington DC as the location for the fair. Generally, the Worlds Fair is hosted in cities that somehow thematically complement the theme of
that particular Fair. For instance, the aforementioned 1893 Worlds Fair was also known as the Columbian Exposition, because it was held in honor of Columbus discovery of the New World
some 400 years prior. Chicago was chosen as the location because, at that time, the city was undergoing major progress in terms of industrialization that many felt embodied the spirit
