is different from that of the current administration. On Iraq, Obama wants to bring the troops home-a popular notion-but he also wants to open up talks with leaders of nations
for which the U.S. has not traditionally agreed in the past. While people criticize this move that would change foreign policy a great deal, others applaud his willingness to budge
on something that former presidents have not. John McCain does bring good leadership ability as he has been a Senator for many years and has fought for issues in which
he believes, regardless of whether it adheres to his partys platform. At the same time, his policies are very much aligned with that of George Bush and others who have
created an unpopular image of America. It seems that Obama would help to restore the image of the nation because he is willing to take steps to create real change
in the world. Therefore, Barack Obama would make the better president. 2. How this election will affect history? The election will affect history in several ways.
If Barack Obama is elected president, he will be the first president of color to sit in the Oval Office. Also, the primary included for quite some time, two front
runners who were each minorities in their own right. If Hillary Clinton won, she too would have made history as the first female contender. Of course, the race is historic
as it has demonstrated that not only white middle-aged men can sit in the presidents chair. The nation has been asking whether or not the country is ready for a
black or female president. In fact, some worry that the Republicans will win again simply because there is too much bigotry to see a black man in the White House.
