action. It is fundamentally based on the premise that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, that the country is in violation of 1441, that it has been uncooperative
regarding weapons inspections for a twelve year period and that it poses a threat to the free world. President Bush had indicated that there is an urgent need to
preempt an attack by Iraq. In fact, prior to the launch of the U.S. -led attack on the country, there had been suggestions that Saddam had weapons already in the
United States and was planning an attack on the nation. There have been many rumors. Of course, whether or not these rumors turn out to be true remains to be
seen. However, regardless of whether or not Iraq had been planning a serious attack on the United States is not relevant. The present regime of Iraq poses a threat to
the world as well as to its own people. And while Saddam is in violation of Resolution 1441, and has not been cooperative in terms of weapons inspections, does that
mean that the U.S. should wage war? Should the president, in his capacity as Commander In Chief , go to war to dismantle Iraqs chemical and biological weapons production?
Should Hussein be removed? What are the consequences? Would the U.S. be better off waiting for the U.N. weapons inspectors to re-enter Iraq, inspecting potential weapon facilities? First, it
should be said that Resolution 1441 was agreed upon in the fall, and while the world believed that Saddam must disarm of face consequence, many nations have not lived up
