The most commonly used diagnostic technique used to diagnose patients with is the utilization radiographic technology. CT scans are one of those technologies. Relatively new itself, high resolution CT evaluation (HRCT), has been utilized in everything from the diagnosis of emphysema to the diagnosis of appendicitis (Webb, 1998). It has the potential to allow those in health care to more accurately image morphological abnormalities (Webb, 1998).
