is my Moms niece; shes married to a cool guy named Steve, and they have a two-year old girl, a red-head of all things. Theyre great people and Eileen is
really into environmental issues, and shes also a great cook, so I knew wed be having an organic turkey, fresh vegetables and her special potatoes. And everybody brought something to
add to the feast. Technically my Mom had the "day off" from cooking, but she couldnt stand it: she had to make her patented biscuits - from scratch, I might
add - to take with us. They disappeared in a heartbeat! Eileen and Steves place is at the end of a lane and they have a very steep driveway, so
we parked in the street instead of trying to make it down that slope. They didnt have the Christmas decorations up yet so the house looked dark, although they had
an autumn wreath on the front door. Eileen must have heard us coming because she opened the door before we could knock and said "Happy Thanksgiving! Youre the first and
the powers out!" and hugged us. That explained why the house looked so lifeless. When we went in a wonderful aroma of turkey greeted us; it had been cooking
for hours and the whole house smelled wonderful. But then Eileen told us again that the power had gone out and she was worried about the turkey. She had called
