An ethical inquiry into the problem of bias in testing and assessment has definable objectives, both in terms of research and in the ethical analysis of the data collected. These objectives include the following: * To determine the views presented in the current literature regarding testing bias; * To outline the existing research regarding testing bias and the impact of this problem; * To create an analytical view of the ethical problem of testing bias and the impacts for women and minorities; * To determine a comparative view of the outcomes of biased tests taken by women and minorities vs. the outcomes of the same tests taken by men; * To consider the specific factors or social constructs that impact testing bias, including, but not limited to: personal culture, socioeconomic conditions, gender, ethnicity; * To create a body of research that can be used by others to assess the ethics of applying standardized testing outcomes. The student should then relate the reasons behind creating the study objectives and the purpose of these objectives related to the problem as a whole. This can be done in a single paragraph. The study objectives are based both on the study problem and on the research design of ethical inquiry.
