the question of whether bias exists in the testing process has been a central argument in recent years. As a result, the question of the ethical use of assessments
and testing tools has been a central issue in many educational environments. A good, unbiased test can be beneficial to the educational environment, while poor quality testing materials with
significant cultural, racial or gender bias can have an equally significant negative impact. The Qualitative Research Topic The ethics of educational assessment is a complex problem. Many educators
view standardized testing as a necessary part of their educational design. Standardized testing not only directs educational models, but can also be used as a functional tool to determine
the benefits/problems with particular educational methods. But if tests and assessments are racially or gender-biased, then the ethics of the use of this type of testing in the educational
environment is brought into question. In considering whether a test ethically viable, it is valuable to consider the application of the test within the educational environment and the
