However, in the U.S. and other nations, there is much that can be learned about the terrorists, their desires, their capabilities and how terrorism may be prevented. Of course, there
is no sure way to prevent terrorism as the terrorists use so many tactics, it is difficult to foresee every possible method they will employ. In other words, the terrorists
may set off a bomb in a mall where they have never done that before, or they may crash a plane into a sport stadium. They might poison the water
or launch a gas attack in the subway. There are so many possibilities, that it is important to plan for each one of these. Of course, there are many instances
where a possibility may not come to the consciousness of the people until it occurs, and so, some situations cannot be prevented. While terrorism cannot be completely eradicated, some of
it can be stopped. People are told to look around and observe their surroundings. They are to be aware. No longer can people travel by train or plane without that
hyperawareness that comes with the vigilance the U.S. government wants them to embrace. It is a new way of live. People are more cautious. While a seemingly easy and insignificant
step towards stopping terrorism, it is not unimportant. In fact, it appears that credible information has come from the public on many occasions. It is through the strategy of public
awareness that terrorism can be reduced. Of course, that is only the tip of the iceberg. There are specific steps that the government has taken to combat terrorism. First, a
