high quality exhaust systems. The initial product development started out as a high quality exhaust system targeted at the motor racing industry, where custom-made exhausts were necessary. The company initially
started utilizing a high level of specialization, with exhaust systems designed specifically for the Holden and Ford V8 engines, but as the companys reputation grew it became apparent that there
were many private individuals who also wanted to improve the performance of the car from a custom-made exhaust system. For this basis the company expanded its product range, creating sources
to almost any type of car. This increase product range would have an impact on whether the company operated; in order to supply a wide variety of products the skills
of the employees needed to increase, and theres also the potential that more input would be required as well as a greater variation needed on the production processes in order
to supply these different parts. This placed company in a position where they were supplying the motor racing industry as well as the "rev head" and "hot rod" segment of
the automotive industry. The traditional manufacturing processes that the company utilized was based on a points system, where orders were custom-made, so in order would need to be placed
before and exhaust would be produced. The layout of the factory reflected this pull system of manufacture, with the different processes placed in different areas of the factory, with the
