over the last decade, the benefits of the lower costs and higher level of flexibility associated with granting casual contracts have proven attractive to many employers eager to reduce their
labor costs (Nelson and Tonks, 2007). However, despite the apparent savings there are many indicates that there are a range of hidden costs, as employee turnover increases and negative employment
behavioural traits manifest which can have a harmful impact on the internal culture (Nelson and Tonks, 2007). Few employers are able to use only casual staff, this leads to a
complex scenario of a duel employee structure, made up of permanent or contracted workers and casual staff, which will often lead to tension or conflict (Nelson and Tonks, 2007; Zeytinoglu
et al, 2004; Eswaran and Kotwal, 1985). This can become a major problem for employers who seek to create a unified culture. It may be argued that the psychological differences
between the two groups of workers creates a rift with tensions that cannot be resolved with traditional conflict resolution strategies such as negotiating and dealing with the causes of the
tension. Instead employers may need to look at the way that the symptoms are dealt with and controlled to contain and disperse tension and conflict rather than allow it to
become problematic1. To consider if this is the case the first stage is to look the potential underlying causes of the tension or conflict, it is only by identifying
this source that it will be possible to assess whether or not it will be viable to deal with the route cause of the tensions. After assessing this aspect
of the problem the best way forward may be assessed, considering any potential resolutions for the cause for the manifestation of the symptoms. Body of Paper Research has
