ARTICLE REVIEW: In two articles in the bibliography, both the Jenny Jones case by Charles Gibson and Rikki Rebounds with Revamp by Joe Schlosser the reader is plied with the excellent way that these talk shows are able to get away with the nature of violence on their television shows and not be held responsible for it. The Jerry Springer show is another excellent example. Children watch these shows daily as people get into fistfights on stage, crash chairs over each others heads, and it is all done with the feeling that this is a normal or even funny way to be. However, in the journal article Children, Adolescents, and the Media: Issues and Solutions, Victor Strasburger points out eloquently that it is through these very ways that children are most normally exposed to violence in the light that this action is alright. The audiences and hosts of these violent talk shows expect one or more fights to break out, and are disappointed if it doesnt. What kind of message does this send our children? According to Strasburger (1999, 103) it sends a very dangerous message to our children about growing up to be violent.
