which people go from one web site to another by typing in an Internet address. They are switched to a different page rather rapidly, as long as they are using
broadband. Interestingly, PSTN began with manual switchboards ("Public Switched Telephone Network," 2006). One will see this on old re-runs of Petticoat Junction and The Andy Griffith Show perhaps. The operator
would see a call come in and manually switch it from one locale to another. PSTN is a simple concept but draws on high technologically. Again, today, everything is done

purpose of PSTN is to route calls. It is a very simple function, but with millions of calls going through each day, one can see why efficiency is important. Clearly,
