For example, a separate check-in area can be easily created for the arrival of a large group with special needs, leaving the main check-in area free to handle other guests (Adams 108). Property management systems also help large, global hotel chains by supporting multiple property functions within one database, which allows for consolidation of "operations, resources and hardware" (Adams 108). The OPERA Enterprise Solution from MICROS systems encompasses "central reservation, customer information, property management, sales and catering, quality management, (and) material management" (Adams 108).
