County and is considered to be a suburb of the New York City metropolitan area. Along its western border are River Edge and Hackensack, which lie on the other side
of the Hackensack River. On the north, it is bordered by New Milford and Bergenfield with Englewood and Leonia to the east and Ridgefield Park and Bogota to the south
("Township," 2012). Teaneck has a moderate climate with temperatures ranging from 87 in July to 22.7 degrees Fahrenheit in January ("Climate," 2010). The rainfall average is 48 inches per
year and the average snowfall is 25 inches annually. The climate is moderated by the fact that Teaneck is located relatively close to the Atlantic Ocean ("Township," 2012). Air
and water quality in Teaneck is not good. Air quality is 15, based on a scale of 100 (where a higher score indicates cleaner air) and this score is based
on the number of ozone alert days and the degree of air pollution as measured by the EPA ("Health," 2010). Water quality scores 40 on a scale of 100. On
