more bargaining power on issues such as pay levels and pay raises, health coverage, job security, a fair chance at promotions, paid time off for vacations and holidays, retirement benefits,
the right to be treated fairly and to be protected from discrimination and favoritism (Teamsters, Oct). Teamsters know the benefits of belonging to a union. Unions provide the best method
for workers to achieve fairness on the job, with trained union representatives helping to win better working conditions and protect the members rights. The Teamsters union gives workers a stronger
voice in the political process. Organized labor is the key ingredient for economic growth, and Teamsters unions make the difference when it comes to getting higher wages and better
benefits. Labor Department figures confirm this -- last year, union members earned an average of $7.22 more per hour (in wages and benefits) than did those without union membership. Of
