can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:8-11 NIV). This writer/tutor perceives
this passage as providing an eloquent call for team ministry, as it clearly indicates that the efforts of various team members can be combined in order to cooperatively accomplish
ministry goals. The talents and gifts granted by God to individuals vary, where one person has a deficit, another person excels. When these various gifts are combined into a team,
"you have an awesome potential for success" (Iverson and Grant 52). Team ministries bring talents and gifts together in a synergetic cooperation, accomplishing goals as a team that are beyond
the scope of a single individual. Many churches today are moving away from long established practices that simply maintained the status quo
of a congregation and moving toward team-based ministry (Ott 1). At the beginning of Otts text, he asks his readers to imagine the "passion and excitement of the twelve apostles"
when they were called to serve Jesus, and he goes onto argue that there is no "greater sense of passion" than the one that person experiences as he or she
