Lamont, who has failed to turn in several important assignments without explanation of apology, making Lamonts supervisor concerned. Martin expresses the fact that this is highly uncharacteristic behavior for Lamont,
who has always been timely and accurate, and his Supervisor is looking for way to resolve the conflict and sets up a meeting with Lamont. At the meeting, the Supervisor
learns that Lamont is caring for his father, who has Alzheimers Disease, and he is having trouble juggling home and work. In this case, the resolution for Lamont must be
allowing Lamont flexibility in his schedule so that Lamont can handle conflicting home and work needs. Conflict Resolution trainer, Bob Martin (2004)
states that the resolution will be negotiated at that meeting following four steps, the first of which is the Supervisor stating the problem, without judgment, including how the Supervisor feels
about the fall in productivity. The Supervisor then listens with respect to Lamonts description of his actions and/or problem, which includes Lamonts desire to keep his job. With a clear
