the education institutions seem behind. The youth of today are already immersed in an Information Age, far more than adults who teach them, and as such it is clear that
the Information Age and a global economy is already here. In light of this it is imperative that high school teachers know how to teach students in this Information Age
and global economy. The following paper examines how teachers should be prepared. Teaching in an Information Age and Global Economy The
Information Age is considered to be one of the primary ages of human development. According to one author there was the Stone Age, the Agricultural Age, the Industrial Age, and
now the Information Age (Riegle, 2007). "The Information Age is characterized by the value of information, rather than raw materials and physical labor" (Riegle, 2007). This author presents an
interesting truth concerning the difference between the Industrial Age and the Information Age in illustrating how the Industrial Age relied on costs of products relating to raw materials, such as
the cost of a car wherein 60% of the cost is related to the materials used and the workforce to create the car (Riegle, 2007). In contrast, the Information Age
relies on the computer which is comprised of only 2% of its cost as it relates to the materials and workforce to create (Riegle, 2007). The cost of the product
