students if they like pizza and discuss what kind of pizza they like. Teacher will inform students she is going to read a story to them about a boy
who turned into a pizza. Objectives and purpose Students will put the story in the correct sequence Instructional input During story, after teacher reads about Pete not
being able to go outside, she asks children how Pete looks. And, why they think he feels sad. This type of questioning about emotions for Pete and his parents continue
through the story. Teacher will also ask students if they thought he like being turned into a pizza and why or why not? After teacher finishes reading the story,
she tells students they are going to do activity about the story. Modeling Teacher uses her set of cards to put the first three cards in sequence. They
discuss why these cards belong in this sequence, discussing the pictures and/or words on the cards. Students use the word next to indicate which card would come next in the
sequence. They continue this process until all cards have been placed in proper order. Checking for understanding Teacher discusses again the meaning of the word next and has students
demonstrate their understanding of what they are supposed to do with their own set of cards. Teacher asks students to explain what they will do at their own tables.
