clothes to the wholesalers The clothes are designed to appeal to the female 16 - 24 age group and are high fashion but aimed at those on a budget and
as such as aimed at the middle of the market where many goods are not high fashion. This means quality is good, but it is not top quality as the
clothes are not expected to last for more than a year as fashions change. The company as a medium sized company only has a mediums sized output and as such
relies on the styles and designs as its point of competitive advantage as the company is too small to gain economies of scope and scale and cost advantages reside with
the many larger companies. The main channels of distribution are a range of wholesalers who sell the goods on to a range of retailers however there are some contracts
in existence with smaller chains of fashion shops who deal directly with the company and deliveries are made to there warehouses who then distribute the goods to their stores.
By looking at the aspects of total quality management we can see how there are several processes in place in the company to check that quality is the right level
for all aspects of the business. In a report sponsored by Proctor and Gamble in 1992 of the Total Quality Leadership and
Steering Committee and Working Councils there was a definition reached which was also endorsed by the business and academic communities. This definition read " Total Quality (TQ) is a people-focused
