DHL Express and TNT Express are both international firms, supplying express delivery services, the former in more than 220 countries and the latter in more than 200. The customers
of both firms will need to get packages or documents delivered in a short time period, often across a country or across the globe. DHL has a strong brand
image supported by effective board marketing, and has been able to create value through strategic alliances, joint ventures and the use of outsourcing.
TNT has made greater use of the leasing of assets to reduce capital expenditure, franchising agreements and acquisitions to grow their markets, TNT may be able to gain from
