price. Something needs to be done to boost profits, but the board of directors doesnt have a solution. In order to rectify
the problems, the board appointed a new CEO, who has been asked to use a ratio analysis in order to analyze FFCs strengths and weaknesses and to determine what needs
to be done in order to get the company back on the right track. We will then conclude this paper with some recommendations that FFC can implement in order to
improve its financial health. Ratio Analysis - A Description Before examining FFCs problem, we will first described the concept behind ratio analysis
and why it is such a useful tool for determining the financial health of the company. In their most simple form, ratios
are tools that both help lenders determine the health of a business, while helping businesses determine what needs work in their balance sheets (Ellinger, 2003). A financial ratio also can
help judge and institutions strengths or weaknesses quickly without having to look at every single number on a balance sheet (Gardner, 1997). In addition, racial analysis is also very valuable
when it comes to establishing comparative history (Gardner, 1997). Regular monitoring of ratios means company owners and managers gain valuable insight as
