who typically talk about how great the merger/acquisition will be for all parties, while the latter discusses why the activity is so important from a financial perspective.
The person who people dont typically hear from in these situations, however, is the project manager. This person is the behind-the-scenes worker who pretty much
takes the orders of senior management and ensures the orders are carried out so the merger or acquisition goes smoothly and without too much of a hitch.
In this paper, well examine the role of the project manager and discuss some of the tasks that might come his/her way before, during and
even after a merger or acquisition activity. In the beginning. Before anything is even considered when it comes to a merger
or acquisition, the company should assign an experienced project manager to coordinate the entire process from beginning to end. In addition, project
managers need to be committed to their missions, while having a long-term and big-picture perspective when it comes to such mergers (Lymore, 2002).
