businesses have been lauded as the backbone of economies, and the reason why economies prosper the way they do. As such, most Presidents of the United States have done their
best to make friends of small business owners (at least, through a great deal of rhetoric), to ensure that these owners will vote for them come election time.
Obama has been no different in making small-business assistance a major part of his platform than his predecessors (Tankersley, 2011). Obama, of course, is
dealing with small business issues in light of the financial crash of late 2008 and the Great Recession. And the President has repeatedly called for assistance for small businesses, pointing
out that small businesses are the backbones of the economy, and that they are the ones that will provide the employment to (hopefully) get the economy moving.
But the question we need to ask ourselves here is whether the Obama Administration is doing well by small businesses or if Obama is another in
a long line of Chief Executives who cant walk the talk. The belief here is that while Obama is sincere about his desire to help small businesses, his actions toward
doing so are all wrong. Definition of a Small Business Mention the term "small business" and what might come to mind is
anything from the lone sole-proprietor accountant, to the small bakery down the street, to the boutique shop in the heart of old downtown. In truth, the U.S. Small Business Administration
defines a small business as "an independent business having fewer than 500 employees" (FAQ, 2011). The SBA goes onto say that small business "size" as it pertains to government contracts
