building in the world, the structures stands approximately 1,454 feet high (1,808, including the twin antenna towers on top) (Greiner, 2003). Incidentally, there continues to be some question as to whether the Sears Tower remains the tallest building, but that is for another paper. Located in downtown Chicago on Wacker Drive, The building offers approximately 4.5 million square feet of floor space, with the average sway of the building being approximately six inches from the true center (Greiner, 2003). The combined weight of the building is 445 million pounds - 222 million tons (Greiner, 2003). The building, which opened in 1973, took three years to build at a cost of $150 million (Greiner, 2003).
