that Prevnar is a successful drug for Wyeth Lederle Laboratories, which manufactures the medicine. This paper will take into account the need for capacity planning and expansion, the right locations
for expansion, suggested facilities layouts and human resource needs. About Wyeth Lederle and Prevnar Prevnar, one of the latest vaccinations released from
Wyeth Lederle, is a Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccines (PCF-7) (McCabe, 2002). The vaccine was developed to help prevent pneumococcal diseases in small children, and prior to the release of this drug,
approximately 700 cases of meningitis and 200 deaths each year in children under age five were recorded by the Center for Disease Control as a result of the pneumococcal virus
(McCabe, 2002). Wyeth, formally named American Home products, has realized a great demand for Prevnar, as the Centers for Disease Control and
the American Academy of Pediatrics have both recommended that all children up to the age of two be given this vaccine as part of their health care regimen (McCabe, 2002).
