The First Folio of Shakespeare. There would be at least two more First Folio of Shakespeare released, each one categorizing, revising or abridging the previous volume. The First Folio of
Shakespeare, no matter how many times revised, still stands as one of the foremost resources for the Shakespearian scholar today. The First Folio as it has been called is simply
a collection of Shakespeares dramas. The editors of the volume, Shakespeares fellow actors John Heminge and Henry Condell, arranged the plays in three genres: Comedies, Histories, and Tragedies(Hinman, ix, se
also Stritmatter, Bartolovich 7). The first volume was printed in 1623 and contends that it is THE only place where all of his original plays can be found(Stritmatter, see also

be found in the Folger collection are copies which were cannibalized in order to make complete copies of other less damaged copies(Hunter 11, see also Werstine 2).
