consideration all of the various dynamics, both group and individual which contribute to the effectiveness of the team or department. Peter Druckers book, THE ESSENTIAL DRUCKER, examines the various facets
of the successful business, but stresses the role of the individual within the framework of the whole. There are many influences that go
into the decision-making ability of a manager. Some of those influences can include, personality characteristics, experience, and the context of the situation at hand, strategies used and critical thinking and
analysis. Also, one of the key factors, it can be said is the amount of self-confidence that a manager has in his or her ability to lead people.
It becomes apparent in the section titled The Individual, that charisma alone can sometimes solidify a disparate team, or it can convince and encourage
support for a less than popular decision. The student can also state that a key influence on the cognitive process is, indeed, the personality of the manger. Personal bias can
influence the interpretation of the data if there is not someone else to corroborate what is found. Characteristics which may influence may include ambition, drive, threshold for risk, and attention
to detail, to name a few. And, interestingly enough, what may be considered an intolerable trait such as someone needing to be in control can actually be an asset if
it is channeled properly. However, Drucker goes on to point out that the individual must ultimately manage his own career, its success
