keep in mind that while the information that follows is real (with appropriate sources cited), any questions answered by "health care workers" are fictitious - they are examples of what
a worker could answer during a telephone or e-mail interview. First lets examine some trends.
First, the population is getting older (Stapleton, 2000). As baby boomers and Gen Xers move into middle age, they will be demand more and more medical services. These people are
also living longer, meaning "old age" diseases will likely be more prevalent. The good news for the population however is that there are medications and technologies that can help combat
the negative illnesses when it comes to aging. Because of this, the interviewed health care worker is likely to indicate that the needs of the patients he/she sees has changed.
More of these patients are likely coming in for preventative medicine and wellness care, rather than waiting until they are ill to come in for help. As a result, treatment
options change as well. Its also been predicted that patients will be better educated, and they will be more empowered to take an
active role in their health care (Stapleton, 2000). This could likely mean that a good part of an average day of a health care provider could involve listening to patients
