not yet developed enough communication skills to be able to initiate appropriate behaviors. To this end, then, the alliance between a teacher and the parent is of utmost importance. The
carefully constructed letter can alert parents to the best practices in behavior modification for this age child, and to suggest certain telltale signs that the child may need to seek
evaluation by qualified professionals. Children often learn best from their parents, and parents can take advantage of these teachable moments in the little routines or activities that they may
enjoy everyday. For example, if the goal is to have their child display better manners, then the parents need to example this themselves and make a game of practicing these
skills at meal time and at other times(Davis 1998). Many children are very visually oriented. This is possibly due to the fact that they do not have the verbal skills,
nor the reading skills. As such, then, their chief learning strategy is likely to be visual in nature. Given this, then, parents can model the behavior that they are attempting
to elicit from their child(Davis 1998). In a classroom or home situation pointing out the appropriate behavior in the actions of another student or sibling can serve as the example.
