B. Johnson was elected President of the United States, solidifying a position that became his by accident with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy less than a year before.
Not so coincidentally, 1964 was also the year I was born. My parents were immigrants from Puerto Rico, who raised me in New York City.
To suggest I was a child of the 60s is somewhat misleading - certainly I was BORN in the 1960s, but I dont remember much about it. However,
