promoting a unity among many telecom firms. Just as interesting, however, is the story of the peripherals of these electronic devices -
for computers, the peripherals include everything from extra busses to video cards to storage capacity - while for cell phones, the peripherals can include "hands-free" items, as well as connectors
that can connect cell phone to laptop computer. Yet one peripheral that has not been discussed much has been the power that
drives these electronics - the humble battery. It is the battery that drives the power of these devices. When it comes to cell phones, the battery is what drives electronic
impulses between the speaker and listener. In computers, batteries serve a more important function - they keep a computers internal clock running. One can tell when a computer battery is
ready to run down - one only needs to examine the time on the computer. If the computer is not keeping very
good time, the likely culprit could be the battery. A dead battery in a computer means more than the fact that the computer wont be able to tell time. A
dead battery means the end of power that drives everything from the hard drive to computer storage. Some batteries even help support computer systems when the power goes out -
