Part of this involves determining task objectives. A task objective is an objective that is focused on completing a particular activity or supplying a specific service (or number of
services). Then there are process objectives, which are methods by which tasks are completed - and this goes into resource and time management, which well discuss later on in this
paper. Task Specification What is involved with task management? The first thing involved is determining the task itself. What is the
particular task that needs to be accomplished? This is a pretty straightforward deal, but its amazing how convoluted the business gurus have made this. Task objectives, once again, are those
focused on completing a particular activity or supplying a specific service. But its amazing how many leaders and bosses dont even get this right. They neglect to tell their subordinates
what they might be responsible for and fail to lay out clear guidelines. They assume the subordinates will simply understand and get impatient when questions come up. As a result,
the subordinates get it wrong, and a project ends up having to be scrapped, or having to start all over again. Zmund
and McLaughlin (1989) point out that task assignments are (or at least they should be) activities that are aligned with the organizations main goals and objectives. Lets look at an
