solve, use different metrics and investigate potential suppliers (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). Supply managers consider a variety of issues when purchasing, such as price, availability, quality, and the reliability
of the potential supplier (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). They also check out the potential suppliers technical support and customer support. They also use metrics to study sales records and
inventory levels of each product they need to purchase (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). We live in a global market which means the supply manager may have to deal with
persons from other countries (Institute for Supply Management, 2009). The Institute for Supply Management (2009) points out that this job continues to evolve as do career opportunities in supply management.
This is a global marketplace and the supply manager must feel just as comfortable talking with someone in Asia as talking with someone in the next city. Supply managers
