However, aside from the interaction between the supernatural ploys involving the mortal individuals, there is a very strong supernatural, fantastical, element that belongs to nature in this particular story. The following paper examines the supernatural elements inherently possessed in the forest of Shakespeares "A Midsummer Nights Dream." Supernatural in Midsummer Nights Dream One of the first introductions the reader or viewer gets into the supernatural aspects of this forest comes when Puck meets with a fairy. Puck asks the fairy where it is going and the fairy replies: "Over hill, over dale,/ Thorough bush, thorough brier,/ Over park, over pale...I do wander everywhere,/ Swifter than the moons sphere;/ And I serve the fairy queen,/ To dew her orbs upon the green....I must go seek some dewdrops here...Our queen and all our elves come here anon" (Shakespeare II i). In this introduction into the supernatural world there is nothing but the clear fantasy world of the fairies in a forest where nature is tended by these supernatural beings, at the command of the queen of the fairies. It is an environment that is entrenched in the supernatural. Even before the humans enter the forest, and Oberon and Titania become involved in playing tricks on the humans through juice that changes their passions, we see this forest as a place where people will become confused for it is a very powerfully supernatural place that does not perhaps belong to mankind. Puck tells the fairy about the troubles between Oberon and Titania, indicating that they are fighting over an Indian boy who is the sweetest "changeling" (Shakespeare II i).
