examine 6 separate articles dealing with various abortion issues, ranging from low-income abortions to the legal status of a father who wishes to stop the abortion of his child. In
presenting various articles the paper essentially offers a broad understanding of where abortion stands today. Abortion Among Low-Income Women This article, which appears in Knight Ridder/Tribune News Service,
Oct 8, 2002, is titled "Abortion numbers among low-income women up, despite continued rate drops in overall procedures" and is written by Marie McCullough. In this article we note
that the opening statement seems to offer a great deal of information about the contents of the article, stating that "A new survey shows the nations abortion rates continue to
fall, except among women who already have the highest rates _ those with low incomes" (McCullough, 2002; p. K0524). Apparently the abortion rate for the country has fallen over
the past decade. And, in addition, birth rates have fallen for women under the age 29 as well. In this study they "found that, for every 1,000 women of childbearing
age, the number who had abortions fell from 24 in 1994 to 21 in 2000." However, at the same time, "they found abortions were increasingly common among impoverished women _
including teenagers _ who made up half of the survey participants. _ For every 1,000 women below the poverty level ($17,600 for a family of four), the number having abortions
