THE PROBLEMS Our school system is not as bad as that in some societies but it is by no means operating at the level that it could. We in
the United States have the money and the means to have one of the best school systems in the world, but our schools talents and assets are being wasted in
such a way as to make our school systems virtually worthless. But as the population of children in our country is increasing rapidly it is time we take the
necessary steps to ensure that the academic education being afforded to these children is of the highest quality it can be. One of the most obvious discrepancies in education today
is the tendency to place the high achieving students in private schools where they will get a more individualized and intensely formatted education. This then makes a much wider
gap when the results are considered measuring private schools against public schools. Another area that needs a closer look is in the advent of technology in the classroom. It
stands to reason that as technology advances, the schools are unable to keep up with it, in that it takes time to change over to new equipment, and better technology.
