order to understand the preparing for lectures it is necessary to consider the difference between secondary and tertiary education. Secondary education takes place in the compulsory environment, the students attend
lessons and the information needed is communicated, with a high level of guidance provided. In tertiary education, the education which takes place at this compulsory environment, by this stage students
are expected to have a greater level of self-reliance, guidance will still be given regarding meetings that are required, but unlike secondary education are not the same level of supervision
(Neary, 2002). Students are treated as adults, and are expected to behave in this way, which includes taking responsibility for their own education. In many instances lectures will be providing
