uses only natural medicinal herbs. The cream contains these ingredients, given in order of their concentration: "glycerol, castor oil, comfrey, coconut oil, common fallow, fenugreek, menthol, English oak, brewers yeast
and capaicin" (McKay, et al, 2003, p. 164). The researchers provide a logical rationale in their introduction that supports the use of their research question. This background cites the
fact that there no known cure for osteoarthritis (OA), which means that treatment can only focus on reducing the symptoms, specifically the patients pain. Typically pharmaceutical intervention takes the form
of "analgesic or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as acetaminophen or aspirin" (McKay, et al, 2003, p. 164). However, the researchers point out that frequent use, as well as the
