those who argue that owning guns is no longer necessary as it was in the history of the nation and only endanger the society while others who argue that without
the right to own guns the society would be far more vulnerable to crime. The following paper argues that stricter gun control laws would essentially leave many Americans vulnerable and
would also increase crime rates. Stricter Gun Control Leaves People Vulnerable It should first perhaps be understood that it is very
difficult to ascertain the true facts concerning gun control and crime in light of the fact that there are many studies which ultimately prove both points. There are those who
argue, with facts behind them, that increased gun control results in less crime and others who also have statistics behind them as they argue crime is reduced. But, overall it
appears that one can clearly and strongly argue that with stricter laws the nation is likely looking for trouble. When criminals know
that the average citizen is allowed to own a gun they are wary of breaking into peoples homes, or wary of committing crime in some respects because they are unsure
of whether or not a victim will have a gun. For example, a person who is planning to rob a store may think twice when they think about whether or
not the owner of the store may have a gun. If they know that strict gun laws make sure that the owner will not have a gun they are assured
