with both Republican and Democratic politicians, and having a family is a desire that seems to permeate all facets of society. Although many people marry late, and live together for
long periods without benefit of marriage, the marital union continues to be treasured. Not only that, but as each successive generation comes of age, children become a part of the
family model. Things have not changed much over the years, but there are admittedly more divorces and separations today. It is no surprise that divorce is common. It is not
as if todays families are blissful. Ozzy and Sharon and not like Ozzy and Harriet. However, there is still some sense that families are trying to stay together and a
realization that this is the best course for the children. It is noticeable that girls from broken homes tend to be more sexually provocative and boys from dysfunctional families end
up in trouble. The family as a unit plays a variety of roles in raising children, and it can play a role in quelling situations of domestic violence and child
