to support business and help attract new business to create jobs in Pleasantville1. This paper will outline why this project is needed as well as presenting the way in which
it may be implemented. The project; "Community for Commerce", which will be represented by two stylized interlocked Cs against a map of the town/community area, will be lead by
a committee made up of volunteers from both the business and the local residential community. The committee will have the usual positions of chairperson, treasurer, secretary who will be appointed
based on their skills and knowledge. There will also be individuals in the team from the local council with a solid understanding of local bylaws and council polices, and individuals
with other skills, such as marketing and public relations as well as the practical knowledge or skills needed to guide the project2. Volunteers will be recruited to support the committee
and help in undertaking the work, with anything from 4 to 40 hours a week, depending on how much time they are able to contribute. The aim of Community
for Commerce may be summarised in a mission statement which reads "To improve the environment in Pleasantville to promote and encourage retail businesses, creating environmental conditions which will attract new
