A 20 page strategic plan for Champion Enterprises, the second-largest producer of manufactured housing in the US behind Clayton Homes. Even though there have been many changes in recent years that have led to increased attention to affordable housing issues, it is likely that changes occurring in all relevant industries in the future will add to that need as well. These changes added to the continued trend toward the need greater numbers of affordable, high-quality options for would-be homeowners, developers and community planners. Champion is poised to contribute to enhanced regard for manufactured housing, while simultaneously providing value not only for itself and its investors, but also for all external stakeholders. The plan urges increased attention to high-quality modular housing. Bibliography lists 15 sources.

them in most middle class or higher developments. All of this has changed in recent years as manufactured housing has lost its simple
rectangular exterior, gaining corners, decks, railings and residential horizontal siding. A more recent development has been the advent of the modular unit, a form of manufactured housing designed to
be placed on a permanent foundation or even over a traditional basement. Customers can choose from ranch, Cape Cod, two-story, gabled and a variety of other styles that when
placed on a foundation and finished with landscaping appear to be fully site-built. Modular housing is both appealing and affordable, both for the
