Essay / Research Paper Abstract

A 26 page strategic plan for the University of Phoenix that specializes in adult education. Many UOP students are in business, education and nursing programs. Corporate training in any of these areas provides a strategic fit with what UOP already does, and it fills a need that no other educational organization has approached in any systematic manner. As the rate of growth in UOP's existing programs decline in the future, an additional corporate training division can extend overall growth at high rates in the future while providing UOP with first-mover advantage in a systematic approach to developing and implementing corporate training programs. The paper recommends that UOP determine which business organizations are most frequently represented among current students. Bibliography lists 16 sources.

Many UOP students are in business, education and nursing programs, either completing bachelors or Masters degrees while many fewer are enrolled in various doctoral programs. Corporate training in any of these areas provides a strategic fit with what UOP already does, and it fills a need that no other educational organization has approached in any systematic manner. As the rate of growth in UOPs existing programs decline in the future, an additional corporate training division can extend overall growth at high rates in the future while providing UOP with first-mover advantage in a systematic approach to developing and implementing corporate training programs. The following paper recommends that UOP determine which business organizations are most frequently represented among current students, approaching those organizations first. Developing a corporate training division in partnership with leading businesses that already are paying tuition reimbursement and seeing the results of UOP education is seen as holding the greatest promise for new strategic directions for UOP.
