to show how strategic planning and all of its concepts may be easily integrated into the business of running a large organization. First, critical success factors are pertinent. Critical success
factors are considered to be a basis for the determination of information needs as it respects managers (Huotari & Wilson, 2001). That in fact was a definition proposed by Daniel
in 1961 and later on confirmed by Rockart in 1979 (Huotari & Wilson, 2001). The premise is that in all organizations, there are particular factors which are critical to
success for that particular organization (Huotari & Wilson, 2001). If objectives associated with factors are not achieved, an organization will fail (Huotari & Wilson, 2001). Just as
it sounds, there are specific factors for success that may be aligned with any organization. In examining Boeing, what are factors critical to the firms success? Jordan claims that
Boeings strength is in the creation of a designated critical success factor (Frook, 1997). Each of these factors are aligned with either a technical issue or Web policy (Frook, 1997).
It seems that Boeing embraces specific factors which render the company successful or not, but broader concepts should be noted as well. One issue is safety and another goes to
