Lynn Nicks in 1948 (Cormier, 2006). She was born in Phoenix, Arizona and apparently demonstrated a talent for music at a very early age (Cormier, 2006). She would often sing
"country and western duets with her grandfather when she was 4 years old (Cormier, 2006). Later she moved to San Francisco, California where she began writing songs and performing, performing
its seems primarily at the Menlo-Atherton High School" (Cormier, 2006). This is the place she would meet Lindsey Buckingham who was to become her companion for many years (Cormier, 2006).
As she continued with her music, struggling here and there, involved in small performances and such, "she and Lindsey signed with Polydor
Records, and produced their collaboration, Buckingham-Nicks" (Cormier, 2006). The album, however, was considered a failure and Stevie and Lindsey, who were lovers at that time, were essentially dropped from the
label (Cormier, 2006). However, although the album was a failure they did get the attention of Mick Fleetwood and Fleetwood asked them to come over and become part of his
musical team (Cormier, 2006). This is how Fleetwood Mac was born and "Two years later, in 1975, Fleetwood Macs self-titled album topped the charts, headlined by Stevies Rhiannon" (Cormier, 2006).
The band seemed to experience an immediate success and the next album was "Rumours" in 1977 which also saw immediate success, all
