have passed funding initiatives so that they will be proactive in finding cures for diseases. It is a noble idea. Governor Corzine has in fact used his own money to
contribute to the fight. Yet, there is controversy about a seemingly simple research idea. The debate about stem cell research is real. It is true that one may ignore
the religious aspect of it, but it really does have to be considered in a Judeo-Christian culture. Many people are offended by the concept, and the possibility of doing something
immoral must be taken into account. On the other hand, it would be wrong to prefer religious beliefs over science and medicine. After all, parents who withhold treatment for sick
children on religious grounds are prosecuted for murder. Might one say that withholding research possibilities is similar? In contemporary society, it would be wrong to withhold the possibility of cure
to appease a religious group. Stem cell research holds promise for many citizens who are stricken with diseases. Diseases such as Parkinsons, MS and diabetes may even be cured through
this type of research. Often, scientists stumble on remedies while just exploring general issues. It is a mistake to put a halt on stem cell research or to limit it
in any manner. People also embrace different religions and so catering to one group might actually offend another. It is hard to evaluate the topic without the inclusion of religious
