The controversy surround stem cell transplantation is particularly intense when we consider that the more promising of stem cells must be harvested from aborted human fetuses. Many contend that
the utilization of these stem cells is simply unethical as it is never ethical to take the life of an individual in order to save the life of another.
Numerous other concerns mingle in to further complicate the dilemma that stem cell research represents. These concerns include those regarding quality assurance, resource allocation, and laws and the legislative
process. Quality Assurance Quality assurance and the
effect of stem cell research on quality assurance is yet another consideration in regard to the dilemma noted above. Health care effectiveness is directly impacted by provisions for quality
assurance. For the most optimum outcome stem cell research must yield possibilities that utilize methodologies which promote both patient and medical accountability and quality. The implementation of appropriately
designed and targeted quality assurance programs in regard to stem cell methodologies is imperative. Health care management philosophies are integrally linked to the quality of the products that are
